Present continuous tense:-
বৰ্তমান সময়ত কোনো এটা কাম চলি থকা বুজাবলৈ এই tense ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়। অৰ্থাৎ যদি বাক্যটোৰ কামটো চলি থাকে তেতিয়া বাক্যটোpresent continuous tenseৰ হ'ব।
যেনে:-আমি এতিয়া ইংৰাজী ব্যাকৰণ শিকি আছো। গতিকে এই বাক্যটোত বৰ্তমান শিকি থকা কামটো চলি আছে সেইবাবে এই বাক্যটো present continuous tenseৰ হ'ব। গতিকে এনেধৰণৰ বাক্য সমূহ present continuous tenseৰ হ'ব।
(If any action is going on at present time then 'present continuous tense' is used in this sentence.That is, if the action of the sentence is going on,then the sentence will be of present continuous tense.
Example:-We are learning English Grammar. In this sentence the action of being learnt is going on therefore,the sentence is present continuous tense.The sentences like these are present continuous tense)
Examples of present continuous tense
1)সি এখন কিতাপ পঢ়ি আছে।
2) মোৰ দেউতাৰাই এটা ঘৰ নিৰ্মাণ কৰি আছে।
3)গৰুটোৱে পথাৰত ঘাঁহ খাই আছে।
4)আমি এতিয়া ফুটবল খেলি আছো।
5) কৰ্মী কেইজনে দলংখন নিৰ্মাণ কৰি আছে।

1)He is reading a book.
2)My father is building a house.
3)The cow is eating grass.
4)We are playing football now.
5)The workers are building the bridge.
Formation of present continuous tense
=Sub+am/is/are+verb ৰ present form+object.
ওপৰৰ এই formationটো ব্যৱহাৰ কৰি অসমীয়ৰ যিকোনো present continuous tenseৰ বাক্য ইংৰাজীলৈ অনুবাদ কৰিব পাৰি।
(By using the above formation it can be translated any sentence of present continuous tense of any language into English language)
Sub অনুসৰি am/is/are ৰ ব্যৱহাৰ
a)যদিpresent continuous tenseৰ sub টো 'I' হয় তেতিয়া am ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়
I am.....
b)যদি present continuous tenseৰ sub টো I ৰ বাহিৰে অন্য একবচন(singular number) হয় তেতিয়া ইয়াৰ লগতis ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়।
যেনে:-He is..
It is ..
Ram is...
She is
The earth is
ইত্যাদি.......
C)যদি present continuous tenseৰ subটো বহুবচন (plural number) হয় তেতিয়া are ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয়।
You are
They are
We are etc.
Use of am/is/are according to the subject
a)If the subject of sentence of present continuous tense be 'I' then 'am' is used with it.
I am
b)If the subject of the sentence of present continuous tense be third person singular number (i.e. singular number except I) then 'is' be used with that subject.
Examples:-He is.
It is
Ram is.....etc.
C)If the subject of the sentence of present continuous tense be Plural number then 'are' be used with that subject.
Examples:- They are
We are
You are.....etc.
Translate into English
1) শিক্ষক জনে ছাত্ৰ ছাত্ৰী সকলক ইংৰাজী ব্যাকৰণ পঢ়ায় আছে।
=The teacher is teaching the students English Grammar.
2)মই এতিয়া তোমালৈ এখন চিঠি লিখি আছোঁ।
=Now,I am writing a letter to you.
3) এতিয়া ধাৰাসাৰে বৰষুণ দি আছে।
=Now,it is raining cats and dogs.
4) ল'ৰা বিলাকে খেল পথাৰত ক্ৰিকেট খেলি আছে।
=The boys are playing cricket in the playground.
5) মোৰ ভন্টিয়ে লুক ভাকু খেলি আছে।
=My sister is playing hide and seek.
6)মই এতিয়া স্কুললৈ গৈ আছো।
=I am going to school now.
7)সি তাৰ ভনীয়েকৰ লগত দূৰদৰ্শন চাই আছে।
=He is watching television with his sister.
8) ছাত্ৰ ছাত্ৰী সকলে চিঞৰ বাখৰ লগাই আছে।
=The students are making a noise.
9) সিহঁতে নদীত সাতুঁৰি আছে।
=They are swimming in the river.
10)যদুৱে এতিয়া এটা আমোদজনক কাহিনী পঢ়ি আছে।
=Jadu is reading an interesting story now.
11)ৰামে মোবাইলত কিবা এটা চাই আছে।
=Ram is watching something on mobile.
12) পুলিচজন চুৰটোৰ পিছে পিছে দৌৰি আছে।
=The policeman is running after the thief.
13)পাপুৱে ইংৰাজী পঢ়ি আছে।
=Papu is reading English.
14) মোৰ 'মা'ই দেউতাৰ বাবে পানী গৰম কৰি আছে।
=My mother is boiling water for my father.
15) মোৰ ভন্টিয়ে মোৰ লগত কাজিয়া কৰি আছে।
=My sister is falling out with me.
Fall out:-কাজিয়া কৰা
16)ডক্টৰজনে এতিয়া ৰোগী গৰাকীক পৰীক্ষা কৰি আছে।
=The doctor is examining the patient now.
17) সৈনিক জনে যুদ্ধক্ষেত্ৰত শত্ৰুৰ লগত যুদ্ধ কৰি আছে।
=The soldier is fighting with enemies in the battlefield.
18)সি মোক ইতিকিং কৰি আছে।
=He is laughing at me.
19)গাড়ী চালক জনে গাড়ী খন চলাই আছে।
=The driver is driving the car.
20) গাওঁবাসীয়ে দলংখন মেৰামতি কৰি আছে।
=The villagers are repairing the bridge.
Formation of negative sentence of present continuous tense
=Sub+am/is/are+not+verb ৰ present form+ing +object.
Examples:-
1)মই তেওঁক আমনি কৰি থকা নাই।
=I am not disturbing him.
2) সিহঁতে ক্ৰিকেট খেলি থকা নাই।
=They are not playing cricket.
3)আমি এতিয়া ইংৰাজী ব্যাকৰণ শিকি থকা নাই।
=We are not learning English Grammar now.
4) ল'ৰাটোৱে এতিয়া কান্দি থকা নাই।
=The boy is not crying now.
5)যদুৱে তোমাক মাতি থকা নাই।
=Jadu is not calling you.
Formation of interrogative sentence of present continuous tense
=Am/is/are+Sub+verb ৰ present form+ing+object?
1) সিহঁতে এতিয়া ক্ৰিকেট খেলি আছে নেকি?
=Are they playing cricket now?
2) তোমালোকে লুডু খেলি আছা নেকি?
=Are you playing lodo?
3)সি তোমাক আমনি কৰি আছে নেকি?
=Is he disturbing you?
4) শিক্ষক জনে ইংৰাজী পঢ়াই আছে নেকি?
=Is the teacher teaching English?
5) ল'ৰাটোৱে কান্দি আছে নেকি?
=Is the boy crying?
WH. questions থাকিলে বাক্যটোৰ আৰম্ভণিতে বহিব।
(Wh questions:- what,when,why,which,whom how,who,where..)
Examples:-
1) তুমি এতিয়া কি কৰি আছা?
=What are you doing now?
2) শিক্ষক জনে কি পঢ়াই আছে?
=What is the teacher teaching?
3) তুমি কাক বিচাৰি আছা?
=Whom are you looking for?
4)সি তোমাক কিয় মাতি আছে?
=Why is he calling you?
5) তুমি কলৈ গৈ আছা?
=Where are you going?
6) সিহঁতে কি পঢ়ি আছে?
=What are they reading?
7) মানুহ জনে কি তৈয়াৰ কৰি আছে?
=What is the man making?
8)তোমালোকে কিয় কাজিয়া কৰি আছা?
=Why are you falling out?
9) টেলিভিছনত তুমি কি চাই আছা?
=What are you watching on the telivision?
10)গোপালে এতিয়া কি কৰি আছে?
=What is Gopal doing?
11)তোমালোকক কোনে ইংৰাজী পঢ়াই আছে?
=Who is teaching you English?
12)ডক্টৰ জনে কি পৰীক্ষা কৰি আছে?
=What is the doctor examining?
13) গাওঁবাসীয়ে কিয় মানুহজনক শাস্তি দি আছে?
=Why are the villagers punishing the man?
14) কেঁচুৱা টোৱে কি কান্দি আছে?
